TT Interphases Pro

About font family

Introducing the updated TT Interphases Pro — a functional and convenient interface font by TypeType!

TT Interphases Pro is a Neo-Grotesque designed specifically for working with interfaces. Static proportions make the text typed in this font look uniform. A larger height of the lowercase characters enhances the font’s readability on screen, and the neutral glyph design and squared forms of the round characters allow the font to stay readable even in smaller point sizes. Among the visual features of TT Interphases Pro, we can highlight fluid bracket forms, thanks to which running text typed in this font is easy and pleasant to read. Also, closed apertures make the font look and feel unique and modern.

The typeface is neutral yet aesthetically pleasing. The basic subfamily will become the ideal foundation for any project. The TT Interphases Pro Mono subfamily, with interesting glyph forms and a consistent size of em-spaces, looks more expressive and is well-suited for coding as well as crafting designer products. Besides, by using the narrow Condensed version we added to the updated typeface, you can make text blocks more compact.

We paid particular attention to the variable version of the font: it is now possible to modify stroke weight, width, and the slant angle of the characters. From Thin to Black, from Condensed to Normal, from 0 to 11 degrees—adjust the font to your any liking or need! By the way, TT Interphases Pro also features a comprehensive and functional icon set with images visually matching the font’s characters and often used in interfaces. These icons offer even greater possibilities for bringing your ideas to life.

The updated version boasts an expanded character set, enhanced technical components, and entirely redesigned kerning and hinting. Stylistic sets and features are now even easier to use, and the typeface looks more consistent and balanced.

The updated TT Interphases Pro includes:

  • 37 font styles in the basic subfamily: 18 roman, 18 italic, and one variable font;
  • 978 glyphs in each font style of the basic subfamily;
  • 35 OpenType features in each subfamily;
  • 6 font styles in the Mono subfamily: 1 roman, 2 italic, and 2 variable fonts;
  • 817 glyphs in each Mono font style;
  • 28 OpenType features in the Mono subfamily;
  • 220+ languages support.

TT Interphases Pro is a perfect font for working with interfaces on contemporary mobile and web platforms.

Ideal font pairs with TT Interphases Pro

What is a font pair, and what does it serve for?

A font pair is a combination of two fonts within one text block. Most often, one of the fonts in a pair is a more expressive headline font, and the other one serves to communicate information. Such fonts complement each other and help designers solve various tasks, like highlighting key elements, adding emotional expressiveness to the project, or separating semantic blocks.

How to choose fonts for a project: Several general recommendations

To begin with, establish the project's tone. Choose the fonts that stylistically match the main idea. After that, you need to determine the functions of each font in the project and their hierarchy: which font will complement the design and which one will serve to attract attention as the main element. You need to assess the difference between the fonts and decide what kind of information each of them should convey. First, we recommend choosing the base font you will use most, and then you can find a suitable pair for it.

Core principles of font pairing and recommendations from designers

The main rule you should follow when matching two fonts is that both similarities and differences must be visible between them. You can highlight the coherence of fonts by the following characteristics: contrast, proportions, width, openness of characters, individual letter shapes, and overall tone. Feel free to experiment with different combinations. We also recommend analyzing the projects you like: this way, you can enhance your visual skills, elevate your knowledge base, and gain confidence in dealing with typography.
